Foreign Correspondents Ep.91 - The North Korea-U.S. summit
The historic North Korea-U.S. summit held

The summit of the century has finally taken place. On June 12, U.S. President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un finally met face-to-face in the city-state of Singapore. Under the watchful eyes of people all across the globe, the meeting went underway at a speed pace. After a private discussion and an expanded summit that lasted for nearly two-and-a-half hours, the two leaders signed a joint declaration at 1:40 pm local time. The document contained a four-point agreement including steps toward the normalization of bilateral ties, establishing a framework of peace, the complete denuclerization of the Korean Peinsula, and the repatriation of POWs, MIAs, and the remain of fallen soldiers from the Korean War. The foreign media provided comprehensive coverage of the historic event, and while many celebrated the meeting between the two leaders, some expressed concern about the lacklustre content of the joint declaration. This week, in this edition of "Foreign Correspondents", we take a closer look at the North Korea-U.S. summit, to get some analysis on the events that unfolded and the issues that were discussed.
