Moon Bong-sun, hailed as a master of ink wash paintings

Moon Bong-sun, a professor of Oriental Painting at Hongik University, is hailed as a master of ink wash paintings. He has dedicated his entire life to traditional paintings, and garnered acclaim for his exquisite paintings that display his unique style and techniques.

Shortly after making his debut as a painter, he received accolades for his ink wash paintings depicting the urban landscape, and he left a deep impression on art enthusiasts and critics alike with his ink wash paintings where mountains, rivers, winds and pine trees were used as the subject matter. At the recent exhibition, "Baekdudaegan: Wayu," the celebrated artist presented his 150m-long painting titled "Gangsanyeohwa (lit. Picturesque Scenery of the Rivers and Mountains)," which is the largest artwork ever to be produced in Korea.
