Why have so many people chosen taekwondo? To find the answer, we look into some amazing people's lives, passions, and dreams. Not broken by their sudden misfortunes, these people kept challenging themselves to achieve their goals.

Patson's Hope

Parth, a young American, just wants to make people happy and laugh. His dream is to be an actor. Surprisingly, he fostered that dream during the most difficult and despairing time in his life. He was diagnosed with Down Syndrome at birth, but he grew up happy, showered with the love and support of his family.
Then his mother died from lung cancer when he was 13 years old. His aunt, who had been his closest friend, became his stepmother. His aunt thought that it was the best choice for her to look after him, but this change threw him into an extreme confusion. Eventually, he locked himself in his own world and refused to communicate with anyone.
Then something brought him out of that shell, and it was taekwondo.
Parth saw a taekwondo performance at his school and decided to try his hand at it. A week later, he informed his family that he would like to be an actor who conveys happiness to others. It was a miracle.
What he told his family touched them deeply. His family had feared that he might become disconnected from the world forever.
Now Parth has fulfilled his dream to be an actor. He is conveying a message to his friends with Down Syndrome that they, too, can overcome their fears of failure and plunge into the world. That is why to Parth and his family, taekwondo is their salvation.
