Korea, China & Japan: The History for Unlocking the Future
Part 2: Sharing Memories and Moving Toward Harmonys

Part 2 of "Korea, China & Japan: The History for Unlocking the Future" tells the story of the historical conflicts between Korea, China, and Japan. How is it that these three nations, which boast both geographical proximity and thousands of years of exchange, are unable to resolve their conflicts?

Through the "Korea-China-Japan History Camp for Youths" that is being held in Kyoto, the documentary seeks to touch upon topics including Japan's invasion of Asian countries, the historical conflicts resulting from its invasion, and the efforts of the three nations to overcome these obstacles.

In an attempt to uncover the clue to solving their historical conflicts, the documentary pays particular attention to the end of the 19th century, when the tragedy first began. Let's take a close look at how Korea, China, and Japan, during the process of embracing the international order set by the Western powers, began to walk down different paths, and how this led to the Sino-Japanese war.

In the process, we can get a glimpse of how the war-torn modern history is being remembered and commemorated by the three countries, and figure out how the endless historical conflicts arising from their nation-centric and selective memories can be settled.
