<The World’s focus on the Digital Korean Wave>
For the first time, Korea’s DMB (Digital Multimedia Broadcasting) service has been introduced to a core of European IT industries in England and Germany. In commemoration of the launching of the service, a special event was held on June 2006. The popularity of Korea’s IT products, like those made by Samsung, has been soaring, including in Europe where Korean products are highly respected. From this, a new trend called “Digital Korean Wave” has become a new phenomenon. Korea’s Ministry of Information and Communication is trying to bolster this trend by preparing a strategy entitled “IT839,” which aims to have an annual growth of 14 percent by 2010. Viewers will understand what the “Digital Korean Wave” is, and the prospects of this trend as a pillar of Korean branding. Let’s learn about this new wave, which is likely to lead the global marketplace.
