Samulnori consists of four instruments, the kkwaenggwari (gong), the jing (gong), the janggu (hourglass-shaped drum) and the buk (drum).
The Rhythms of the Three Southern Regions is a compilation of the more important rhythms found in the regions of Youngnam, Honam, and Chungcheong (central).
It is a major example of samulnori, which has impressed audiences world-wide with its expressions of the vigor, harmony, and dynamic energy of Korean people.
