This Special Session by the Ministry of Science and ICT themed “Green Technology, Path Finder for CarbonNeutral Society” will ighlight the importance of green technology as a key enabler for a carbon-neutral society and share its current efforts on creating opportunities while tackling the global climate crisis.
Speakers from various sectors will present how green technology is being used to achieve their respective carbon-neutral strategies under the theme of “Future Technology for Carbon Neutrality by 2050.”
With the emergence of carbon neutrality as a new global paradigm, technology has emerged as a key means of achieving carbon neutrality (net-zero GHG emissions). Moreover, the collective effort of each stakeholder in each country and inclusive solidarity that spans the world are essential to addressing the global agenda.
In this context, this session is convened to bring together various countries and sectors to imagine a carbonneutral society in the future and explore the role of technology and innovative ways to realize it.
In line with the speeches, participants will delve into the current and upcoming challenges to realize technologies for carbon neutrality. Specifically, participants will discuss what the key roles of each sector and how contributions can be made to build more inclusive partnerships. Moreover, it is expected that the discussion will emphasize the role of international cooperation platforms, such as P4G, which is one of the most important elements in a carbon-neutral society realized by technology. In the end, we harvest various perspectives on how innovative technologies can contribute to enabling the carbon neutral future and embracing the most vulnerable, while leaving no one behind.
