The 21st session of the Conference of the Parties (COP) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change is being held in Paris, France. With this conference, the international community will have a new agreement on greenhouse gas reduction goals in 18 years since the Kyoto Protocol. Korea, host to the Green Climate Fund (GCF) and the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) secretariat, is also responding proactively to the challenge of climate change.We take a look at the swift action being taken in Korea to combat climate change, from Green Cards that help citizens make eco-friendly choices in their daily lives and Songdo International City, designed to be eco-friendly from its inception, to Samsung SDI, a company creating new energy technologies for the renewable future.
We also get advice on how to deal with climate change from distinguished experts, including GGGI Director-General Yvo de Boer, Walt Patterson, Associate Fellow at Chatham House, Professor Cho Yong-sung from Korea University and Yoon Sang-ho, Researcher at the Korea Economic Research Institute.
