The first ever Korean-ethnic mayor in the 106-year history of emigration to Latin America was declared in the small city of Chanchamayo with a population of 200,000 residents. Mayor Jung hong-won, known as the "Great Father of the Poor," embraces the people of Peru as his own family. He is reconstructing the basic infrastructure such as roads, hospitals, water-related plants, and schools one by one, earning the support and trust of Peruvians.
