The government's announcement on tougher anti-virus measures has been pushed back until Monday.
The announcment was originally planned for Friday, but authorities failed to reach a conclusion after Thursday's discussion on tackling the resurgence of COVID-19.
On the agenda was the ramping up booster vaccinations for the elderly, and expanding vaccine pass mandates to those under 18.
Talks on making vaccine passes compulsory at restaurants and cafes, as well as reducing numbers for social gatherings are also thought to have taken place.
Watchers say the delay comes as authorities must account for strong opposition from small business owners.
