Number of women executives at major firms surpass 300 for first time Updated: 2021-10-27 17:02:59 KST

The number of women in executive positions at South Korea's biggest companies has surpassed 300 for the first time.
According to the headhunting site UnicoSearch, at Korea's top 100 firms, there were 322 female executives as of June this year.
That's an increase of 36 positions from last year.
Back in 2004, there were only 13 women executives, total.
This means women now account for about 4.8 percent of all the C-level jobs at these companies.
Samsung Electronics had the most at 55, about 5 percent of its total, while the highest ratio of women was at AmorePacific, the South Korean cosmetics conglomerate, with around 23 percent.
