S. Korea reports 2,080 new cases on Wednesday; Seoul city sees all-time high of 804 cases Updated: 2021-09-15 17:28:40 KST

South Korea on Wednesday reported 2-thousand 80 new cases of COVID-19 surpassing the two thousand mark for the first time in almost a week.
The city of Seoul reported at an all-time high daily tally with over 8-hundred cases.
60-percent of them were from people in their 20s to 40s.
Infections are concentrated in the capital region, but authorities are concerned that they could spread nationwide with the upcoming Chuseok holiday.
Meanwhile, more than 92-percent of the adults who contracted the virus over the past two weeks were either unvaccinated or had not been fully inoculated.
And so far, eight in ten breakthrough infections were found to be linked to variant cases.
