South Korea's automobile exports increased in August marking the eighth consecutive month of growth.
The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy said Wednesday that the value of automobile exports increased by near 17 percent last month compared to the previous year, hitting three billion U.S. dollars.
The rise was largely backed by an increase in sales of eco-friendly cars which hit an all time high.
They accounted for 23 percent of the total number exported.
Shipments of hydrogen cars soared 238 percent on-year, and electric vehicle exports jumped 91 percent.
