Unvaccinated people 11 times more likely to die of COVID-19: U.S. CDC Updated: 2021-09-13 11:13:32 KST

A new study has revealed that people who haven't been vaccinated against COVID-19 are eleven times more likely to die from the virus.
The study by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention also found that people are ten times more likely to be hospitalized when they haven't received the shot.
It was conducted on some 600-thousand COVID-19 cases, during the spring and summer period when the Delta variant began to emerge.
Vaccine effectiveness dropped by more than 10-percent after the emergence of the Delta variant, from the initial 90-percent.
Despite this, the head of the CDC stressed that vaccination works and that it will give protection against severe cases.
