South Korea's daily COVID-19 caseload for Wednesday will likely top 2-thousand.
From midnight to 9 PM, Korea time, Tuesday, new cases stood at 1,8-hundred-59, and usually over the next three hours, the number of cases rises by around a hundred.
It's 423 more cases than the same time period 24 hours earlier.
Compared to a week earlier it's up 21.
The Delta variant is the cause for the high number of cases.
According to health authorities, it now accounts more than 97-percent of all cases in South Korea.
