Heavy rain forecast nationwide...central regions to see 50-70mm per hour Updated: 2021-08-31 17:01:19 KST

Persistent heavy rain bands will continue across the entire country until tomorrow. Rain clouds will be clustered across central regions, bringing local downpours of 50 to 70 millimeters per hour. Also, those in southern parts of the country, especially Gyeongsang-do Province, should be extra alert. The region has not yet fully recovered from the devastating flash floods from the previous typhoon, which means saturated soil and further risk of flooding.

Torrential downpours will batter lower parts of central regions. Parts of Gyeonggi-do, Gangwon-do and Gyeongsangbuk-do provinces will see up to 200 millimeters. Chungcheong-do Province can expect more than 250 millimeters.

The first morning of September will begin on a rainy note nationwide, aside from Busan and Jeju Island. The capital will start off at 20 degrees.

As for the daily highs, Seoul will get up to 25 degrees. Gyeongju and Busan 28. Gwangju 29 degrees.

Rain will be ease off for central regions on Thursday. The south of the country will see frequent showers this week.

That's all for now, and here are the weather conditions around the world.
