President Moon Jae-in says the final budget of his administration will be used to achieve a complete recovery from the COVID-19 crisis and build a strong economy.
During a Cabinet meeting on Tuesday, Moon said that aggressive fiscal policy is more important than ever, stressing all efforts will be directed toward overcoming the pandemic.
The president also pledged support packages for the most vulnerable to reduce disparity and strengthen the social safety net.
Moon also highlighted the need to prepare for the future and become a pace-setting nation -- by boosting investment in new industries, such as software and AI, and speeding up green and digital transformation.
He asked all ministries to closely work with the National Assembly for the passage of the budget bill.
