S. Korea's NSC to step up efforts to revive talks with N. Korea Updated: 2021-07-01 17:55:11 KST

South Korea's National Security Council says it will step up coordination with the U.S. and communicate with related countries for the swift resumption of talks with North Korea.
In a weekly meeting Thursday, the NSC members assessed the recent discussions between Seoul and Washington and other countries following Washington's announcement of its new North Korea policy.
Most recently, the new U.S. Special Envoy for North Korea, Sung Kim, held talks last month with his counterparts from Seoul and Tokyo mainly centering on ways to bring the North back to the negotiating table.
