Isolated showers nationwide through tomorrow...torrential rain across the South overnight Updated: 2021-06-22 15:26:58 KST

Excluding parts of the South Coast and Jeju Island, there are showers coming and going nationwide this evening. This rainfall will get much heavier across the South overnight. Torrential rainfall of 30 millimeters per hour will be pounding Chungcheong-do province and inland regions of the South. Those in the area will need to stay alert for the risk of localized flooding, especially in low-lying areas. Showers will continue into tomorrow with about 5 to 30 millimeters in forecast. Thunder and lightning, and even hail may also follow.

For central regions, scattered outbreaks of rain are expected on Thursday. But a mild, pleasant weekend is on the cards for much of South Korea, including the capital. More seasonable temperatures are expected after the rain clouds move away.

For the readings tomorrow, morning lows will range from 17 to 20 degrees Celsius.

For the capital area, daytime highs will be similar to today's, but other regions will be about 3 to 4 degrees lower. Seoul will get up to 26 degrees. Daejeon and Gwangju 25 degrees. Gyeongju 22 degrees.

Meanwhile, cold, easterly winds will hold temperatures below 25 degrees for eastern regions this week.

That's all for now, and here are the weather conditions around the world.
