President Moon meets U.S. special envoy for N. Korea Updated: 2021-06-22 14:49:15 KST

President Moon Jae-in met with U.S. special envoy for North Korea Sung Kim at the Blue House this afternoon for behind-closed door talks.
Seoul's top office said that Moon asked for continued cooperation from Washington to resume dialogue with North Korea and that he would do all he can to get relations between the two Koreas and Pyeongyang and Washington back on track during the remainder of his term.
Kim reaffirmed the Biden administration's support for dialogue and cooperation between the two Koreas.. and was quoted as saying that he would do his best for the resumption of talks.
Sung Kim arrived in South Korea on Saturday for a five day visit his first trip to the country since being appointed as the Biden administration's pointman for North Korea.
He also held separate talks with South Korea's national security advisor Suh Hoon.
Earlier in the day, he met with Seoul's unification minister Lee In-young with the two agreeing that it's a crucial moment for Seoul and Washington to cooperate for the resumption of dialogue with Pyeongyang.
