U.S. Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo is reportedly planning to hold a virtual meeting on the global shortage of semiconductors, and South Korea's Samsung Electronics is invited.
Bloomberg cites multiple people familiar with the plans as saying that the meeting will be held on May 20th, bringing together both chip suppliers and consumers.
Along with Samsung, the companies invited include General Motors, Ford and TSMC of Taiwan.
The Commerce Department reportedly said in the invitations that the meeting aims to foster, as they put it, "an open dialogue around semiconductors and supply chain matters."
