S. Korea's current account surplus slumps to 8-year low in first half of 2020 Updated: 2020-08-06 13:38:32 KST

Data show South Korea did manage to post a current account surplus for the first half of the year, but it was the smallest in eight years mainly due to a fall in exports of goods.
According to the Bank of Korea, the surplus came to slightly over 19 billion U.S. dollars, down roughly 15.three percent from the same period last year.
Exports on year fell 13.one percent to 242 billion dollars.
