EVs, PHEVs, FCEVs account for 40% of Hyundai-Kia's eco-friendly auto sales in Jan.-Oct. period Updated: 2019-12-09 16:29:01 KST

Hybrid cars, which have been dominating eco-friendly vehicle sales, seem to be losing ground.
Hyundai Kia Automotive Group says that, because of an increase in sales of its electric, plug-in hybrid and fuelcell vehicles from January to October this year, sales of hybrids accounted for less than 60 percent of its sales for the first time since the auto giant started selling them in 2009.
The other three eco-friendly cars models made up 40 percent.
Among the three, EVs saw the biggest gain, with small electric SUVs becoming more popular overseas.
