They shut out Australia 5-to-nothing in the tournament's opener on Wednesday night.
Playing in front of a home crowd at the Gocheok Dome in Seoul, South Korea's starting pitcher Yang Hyeon-jong pitched six dominant innings, striking out ten Aussies while holding them to just one hit.
South Korea won the inaugural tournament back in 2015.
They'll face Canada in their next game tonight at 7PM, Korea time.
