EU probe will look into Amazon's business practices to see if it broke anti-trust rules Updated: 2019-07-18 16:41:41 KST

The European Union has launched a formal investigation into Amazon over allegations it uses data from independent retailers to gain an unfair advantage.
The probe will look into whether the firm has broken EU anti-trust rules.
The inquiry comes after a preliminary investigation last year found Amazon had committed such violations.
Amazon has said it will cooperate with the probe and "continue working hard to support businesses of all sizes."
