Prosecutors investigating the corruption scandal are seeking an extension of former president Park Geun-hye's detention this week.
Park was arrested last Friday over a number of charges, including bribery.
An official from the special probe team hinted on Wednesday that a request could be submitted to extend her ten-day custody period.
If granted, prosecutors would be allowed to keep her in detention for another ten days.
Investigators questioned the former president at the Seoul Detention Center on Tuesday and plan to do so again on Thursday.
