Is it possible for a prize to be awarded to 17 mil. citizens at the same time?
The answer is yes, and it happened during an award ceremony in Berlin, Germany on Dec. 5.
The German political foundation Friedrich Ebert Stiftung (FES) presented its annual Human Rights Award to the 17 million Koreans who participated in last year's candlelight vigils.

The foundation said it recognized the Korean people for their "exercise of the right of peaceful assembly," which is an essential component of democracy.
