Seoul's Vice Foreign Minister holds talks with U.S. officials over Inflation Reduction Act Updated: 2022-09-23 13:11:15 KST

The Second Vice Foreign Minister Lee Do-hoon met with several U.S. officials in Washington to discuss the Biden administration's Inflation Reduction Act, which excludes electric vehicles assembled outside of North America from tax incentives.
Lee sat down with White House Indo-Pacific Coordinator Kurt Campbell on Wednesday and relayed Seoul's concerns.
Seoul's Foreign Ministry said Campbell agreed to push for "constructive cooperation" based on their strong alliance.
Lee also held back-to-back talks with U.S. Congress members and called for their attention and cooperation to minimize the impact of the act on South Korean companies exporting electric vehicles to the U.S.
