Ruling PPP and gov't to review looking into around 2,000 stalking cases reported to police Updated: 2022-09-22 21:36:45 KST

The ruling People Power Party and the government say they would consider reviewing all stalking-related cases that have been reported to the police.
This was said during an emergency meeting held on Thursday morning during which the police and the Justice Ministry reported back with what measures they have come up with to help tackle stalking crimes.
As well as looking into the more than two-thousand stalking cases that have been reported, the prosecution and the police have formed a consultative body so that crimes of this nature can be tackled together and more effectively.
There was also discussion on ministries jointly coming up with more protection measures and support for the victims.
This comes following a recent murder at a subway station in Seoul where the accused is alleged to have stalked the victim beforehand.
