South Korea's new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday came to 151,792.
This is the first time since April that the number has exceeded 150-thousand.
There were 50 COVID-related deaths and slightly over 400 people severely ill.
The authorities say they're going to monitor the situation closely as people travel for the summer and an upcoming holiday weekend.
They project daily cases to peak at 200-thousand in the coming days before decreasing.
This projection is an increase from early this month when it was 150-thousand.
