The U.S. Ambassador to South Korea, Philip Goldberg, says Washington is determined to pursue complete denuclearization on the Korean Peninsula while leaving the door open, unconditionally, to talks with North Korea.
After meeting on Friday with Seoul's Unification Minister, Kwon Young-se, Ambassador Goldberg said the North's illegal production of weapons of mass destruction and its ballistic missile programs pose a great threat to the international peace.
He warned that the regime will have to pay a price for that.
Agreeing with Goldberg, Minister Kwon expressed regret over the North's activities.
The two sides also reaffirmed their commitment to providing humanitarian aid to the North regardless of the military or political situation on the Peninsula.
