Film 'Emergency Declaration' tops box office on opening day Updated: 2022-08-04 17:09:42 KST

The South Korean aviation disaster film "Emergency Declaration", released just yesterday, is number one at the Korean box office.
According to the Korean Film Council, "Emergency Declaration" overtook "Hansan," another South Korean blockbuster by selling over 3-hundred-thousand tickets on opening day.
The film has a star-studded, ensemble cast including Song Kang-ho, who won the Best Actor award at the Cannes Film Festival this May, Lee Byun-hun from Squid Game, as well as Jeon Do-yeon, and Kim Nam-gil.
The story centers on a flight bound for Hawaii that has been threatened by a terrorist.
