A court in Paris has convicted eight men over the theft of a Banksy artwork from the Bataclan concert hall in January 2019.
According to a court spokesperson, seven French citizens and one Italian were handed prison sentences from 6 months to four years, but will wear an electronic bracelet instead of serving actual jail time.
The artwork was a mural painted on an exit door of one of the sites of the November 2015 Paris attacks.
It was eventually recovered from a farm in Italy in June 2020
Called "sad girl", the piece honors those killed in the attacks.
It is the second time a Banksy piece has been stolen, as a painting of a rat carrying a suitcase was taken a decade ago from outside a house in the Australian city of Melbourne.
