North Korea plans to "change the operational plans" and "expand the duties" of its frontline military units.
The state-run Korean Central News Agency reported Thursday that on day two of a key meeting held the day prior by the Workers' Party of the eighth Central Military Commission, Kim Jong-un discussed the reorganization of the military.
The agency did not specify how the plans might pan out but it did include a photo of military officials looking at a map of what appeared to be South Korea's east coast.
Analysts say the North may be considering putting the regime's new tactical nuclear weapons among its frontline units.
