Several UN-accredited non-governmental organizations are protesting North Korea's heading of the UN disarmament forum.
North Korea is set to take over as chair on Monday of the 65-member forum that negotiated the nuclear non-proliferation treaty.
The North will lead the forum for four weeks.
The 30 NGOs are appealing for ambassadors for democratic states, including the U.S., Canada, the UK, and EU states to walk out of the forum.
In a statement on Thursday, Geneva local time, the Director of the UN Watch, one of the 30 NGOs, said putting the North Korean regime to lead nuclear weapons disarmament is like "putting a rapist in charge of a women's shelter."
