North Korea has apparently still not responded to an offer from South Korea of medical aid to help the North in its fight against COVID-19.
The Ministry of Unification in Seoul said an "attempt" was made to send a message to the North at 11 o'clock this morning -- a message from Minister Kwon Young-se for his counterpart in the North, Kim Yong-chul.
The Ministry said it's seeking to propose working-level talks with the regime about providing vaccines, medication, masks and test kits.
It also wants to share its experience and expertise in dealing with the virus.
Today was Minister Kwon's first day on the job, and in his inauguration speech, he stressed the importance of achieving the North's denuclearization and creating room for dialogue.
