South Korea added well over 17-thousand new coronavirus cases on Saturday, seeing record case numbers for the past few days with the fast spreading Omicron variant.
More than 11-thousand cases were reported in the capital region but the number of severely ill patients is still dropping.
It's the first day of the five-day Lunar New Year holidays, which often involves mass travel across the country, adding concerns of a further surge.
Starting from today, rapid antigen tests will be in use alongside the PCR tests at testing sites nationwide.
And after the holidays, people can also get tested for Covid at local clinics.
