Employment in South Korea for women is almost back to pre-pandemic levels.
According to the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, the number of women employed last year was 11.7 million, up more than 200-thousand from the year before.
The rate for women last year was 57.7 percent just a tenth of a percent below the figure in 2019, before the pandemic began.
The rise was led mainly by women in their 20s, who accounted for almost 60 percent of women hired last year.
But those jobs were not necessarily secure around half of them were temporary.
