President Xi Jinping and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin is holding a video meeting to discuss the tensions in Eastern Europe and the recent moves by the U.S. and NATO.
Both countries have tense relations with the West right now: China under pressure over human rights and Moscow over the massing of Russian troops near the border with Ukraine.
The two leaders will likely also review the development of bilateral ties.
A spokesperson for Chinese Foreign Ministry said no specific topics or details will be released after the session.
