President Moon Jae-in will be holding a summit at the Blue House next Friday with his counterpart from Uzbekistan.
Seoul's presidential office said Thursday that President Shavkat Mirziyoyev will be in Seoul for a state visit at Moon's invitation from December 16th to the 18th.
The leaders are expected to discuss ways to boost future-oriented and reciprocal cooperation in a range of sectors and step up their cultural and people-to-people exchanges.
Uzbekistan is a key partner in South Korea's so-called New Northern Policy.
Next week's trip reciprocates Moon's state visit to Uzbekistan in 2019 and comes ahead of next year's 30th anniversary of the two countries's diplomatic ties.
This will be Moon's fourth summit with the Uzbek leader during his term.
