Among South Korea's 500 biggest companies there's been a jump in mergers and acquisitions this year.
According to market tracker CEO Score, M&As in the first three quarters of the year more than doubled from last year, for a total of just under 24-and-a-half billion dollars.
The number of deals came to 126 an increase of 31 percent.
This year's biggest deal was the chipmaker SK hynix acquiring Intel's NAND business for nearly nine billion dollars.
The firm with most M&As was Kakao, which acquired 23 companies.
