Data show online shopping in South Korea hit a new record high in October.
According to Statistics Korea, online shopping transactions in October amounted to 14.3 billion U.S. dollars.
That's an increase of almost 22 percent from a year earlier.
The growth was largely attributed to orders for food delivery as well as to purchases of home appliances and electronic devices, following the release of new smartphones and increased demand for heaters.
The data also show that more shoppers were placing orders using their mobile devices.
They accounted for more than 72 percent of all online shopping, an increase from a year earlier of almost four percentage points.
