OPEC+ sticks to January output hike amid emergence of omicron variant Updated: 2021-12-03 05:35:55 KST

OPEC-plus says it will stick to a previously agreed upon plan of hiking its oil output by 400-thousand barrels a day in January.
The announcement came Thursday during a videoconference, to determine whether to stick with its plan or to slow supplies amid fears over the omicron variant of COVID-19.
However, it added adjustments could be made if current market conditions shift.
Other issues discussed included the U.S.-led release of strategic reserves from crude-importing nations, as well as Iran's possible re-entry into oil markets.
