COVID-19 threatens 'return to normal' faster than expected: official Updated: 2021-11-29 10:31:34 KST

Health authorities in South Korea reported 3,309 new COVID-19 infections on Monday morning.
The number of critical cases has been above 600 for five days straight, with 629 reported as of Monday.

"COVID-19 has been threatening our 'return to normal' faster than we originally expected. COVID-19 patients have spiked to around 4-thousand every day and more than 1-thousand patients are waiting for beds."

Health authorities are due to announce a comprehensive plan on how they will adjust prevention measures later on Monday after taking the current situation into account.
