Around one hundred people protested in Berlin over the weekend against the removal of a statue representing the Korean victims of Japan's wartime sexual slavery.
Civic groups, including a Berlin-based organization with South Korean ties called Korea Verband, demanded the 'Comfort Women' statue remain in place, on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women by the UN.
They said the statue warns future generations that wartime sexual violence should never happen again.
