S. Korea to provide monthly rent subsidies for 150,000 young adults starting mid-2022 Updated: 2021-11-26 15:13:36 KST

Starting the middle of next year, a hundred-and-fifty-thousand young adults in South Korea will be subsidized up to nearly 1-hundred-70 U.S. dollars a month for a year so they can pay their monthly rent.
The government project is aimed at relieving the burden of housing expenses and will apply to those aged between nineteen and thirty-four who earn 60 percent of the median income or less while their parent's earnings are equal to, or less than the median.
The Finance Ministry's project evaluation committee decided that around 250 million dollars would be spent on the two-year effort until mid-2024.
