South Korea reported 2-thousand 215 new COVID-19 infections Tuesday and a record number of critical cases at 495.
The country has been seeing over 2-thousand cases for a week straight and more than 400 critical cases for 11 days in a row.
ICU beds are quickly filling up in the capital region.
To prevent a crisis, health authorities are going to announce a contingency plan with specific details on how to curb the outbreak.
They will be announced on Thursday.
