The Bank of Korea announced on Thursday that it will fight against climate change through policies that induce the supply of funds into eco-friendly industries.
The Bank of Korea has introduced a series of measures which aim at funneling more money into the eco-friendly sector.
It plans to issue green bonds, where the money is used for climate or environmentally friendly projects.
It also plans to provide financial incentives to banks which provide funds to SMEs in eco-friendly sectors.
The central bank added that it believes the central bank should be part of the national efforts…supplementing the government's policies against climate change…and it will continue to be fully committed to look for policy measures regarding this matter.
