U.S. has different perspectives to S. Korea on ways to diplomatically engage with N. Korea: Sullivan Updated: 2021-10-27 08:11:07 KST

It appears the U.S. and South Korea are NOT entirely on the same page when it comes to reengaging North Korea in dialogue.
Speaking on Tuesday, U.S. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan said that, while Washington and Seoul agree on the need to engage with the North diplomatically…they have different ideas on what the conditions should be and when talks should resume.
Sullivan made the comment after he was asked whether the White House also thought declaring an end to the 1950-1953 Korean War could help the diplomatic process move forward.
The South Korean government insists such a declaration would likely have the desired effect.
