As of Saturday, South Korea added over 16-hundred new COVID-19 infections, the figures staying below the two-thousand mark for eight straight days.
Almost 80 percent of those cases were from the capital areas, -- Seoul, Gyeonggi-do Province, and Incheon.
The authorities have been paying close attention should the cases drastically surge after recent holidays, but the figures have continued to remain below two-thousand.
As for vaccinations, over 63 percent of the total population in the country have been fully vaccinated.
The country is now preparing for gradually getting back to normal away from the tighter social distancing measures.
